Færder Biennalen competition admission

2024

Competition admission (Shortlisted)

Modular framework for festival pavilions utilizing discarded scaffolding sheeting. The system was designed to be adaptable, cheap to build, designed for disassembly, efficient to store(flat-pack-able), reusable and eco friendly.

The Færder Biennale is a festival for dance and architecture. The competition brief called for a small-scale, low-budget architectural element to be constructed on site for the festival. Key considerations included sustainability and reusability, with an additional constraint of a construction budget just shy of 10,000 euros

For a dance and architecture festival, we aimed to create something dynamic and ethereal, embodying qualities of dance. With a strong focus on sustainability, reusability, and working within  an extremely tight budget, we got the idea of making use of an unexpected yet perfect material: discarded scaffolding debris netting.
